My interest in counseling comes from wanting to understand people: the way our brains work, the experiences that shape us, and why we sometimes feel stuck even when we’re trying hard to move forward. I value honest conversation and a relationship where there’s room to be yourself, including the parts that can be difficult to explain.
I’m pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National University and completing my clinical training. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, graduating magna cum laude.
Before entering counseling, I worked as a substitute teacher in Texas and Maryland, supported mental health practices, and operated my own massage therapy practice. My background has brought me into contact with people across different ages, circumstances, and stages of life, and it continues to inform my interest in both emotional and physical well-being.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and a direct approach to my work. I want to understand what matters to you, how you see your experiences, and what you hope to change. As an intern, I’m continuing to develop my clinical skills with guidance from my supervisors while bringing care and thoughtfulness to each client relationship.
